On the night of (April 28), Burna Boy was the very first Nigerian artist to host the stage in NYC’s Madison Square Garden. The show also announced the name of his forthcoming album, titled Damini, Love. Damini. A press release states that the album “is scheduled to be released for the 31st anniversary of his birthday,” which would be July 2. However, representatives for the artist inform Pitchfork that the album has not been given an official release date.
Love, Damini is Burna Boy’s follow-up album to Twice as Tall, the Grammy Award-winning Twice As Tall. Since releasing the album in August of 2020 The musician has released several singles that include “20 10 20,”” “Kilometre,” “Question,” “Want It All,” and “B. d’Or.” In 2022’s Grammy Awards, he was nominated for Album of the Year (for his contributions in Justin Bieber’s Justice) as well as Best Global Music Performance (for “Do Yourself”) However, he didn’t not win any awards.
